Update! My Forthcoming Book Chapters on Industrial Heritage
Update: I am proud to announce that I have two book chapters that are now in print. These chapters detail aspects of research I have been conducting on industrial heritage, identity, community, and change in Puerto Rico and Yucatan, Mexico.
The first chapter titled “Collective Memory, Working-Class Identity, and the Reanimation of community in the (Post-)Industrial Sugar Landscape of Central Aguirre, Puerto Rico” can be found in the volume Reanimating Industrial Spaces:Conducting Memory Work in Post-Industrial Spaces (Hillary Orange, editor), Institute of Archaeology Publication 66: University College London, published by Left Coast Press (ISBN:978-1-61132-168-5).
The second chapter titled “Las Cadenas que más nos Encadenan son las Cadenas que Hemos Roto: Plantation Systems, Capitalist Mentalities, and the Production of Space, Place, and Identity in Historical Archaeology” can be found in the second edition of Historical Archaeologies of Capitalism (Mark Leone and Jocelyn Knauf, editors) published by Springer (ISBN: 978-3-319-12759-0).
Many of you are already familiar with the first edition of Historical Archaeologies of Capitalism, a classic in the field of Historical Archaeology. I am very proud to be part of the updated and expanded second edition of this important book.
